Clairemont Water Store has an outdoor water vending machine that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 3077 Clairemont Dr, Ste 105, San Diego, CA 92117 — including nights, weekends and holidays, when the store itself is closed. It dispenses the same purified water as the indoor water bar, from the same nine-stage system, at 75¢ per gallon ($3.75 for a 5-gallon jug). The machine is window-mounted on the front of the building and takes coins and cash only — prepay plan balances work at the indoor water bar, not at the machine, and the machine dispenses purified water, not alkaline. Bring any clean bottle or jug from 20 oz up to 5 gallons.

If you are looking for water right now
The store keeps ordinary shop hours — open daily from 10 AM to 2 PM and 3 PM to 7 PM — but the water does not stop when the door locks. The machine on the front of the building is live around the clock, so a 6am start, an 11pm run, a Sunday, or a holiday all work the same way: bring your jug, put coins or cash in, fill up, go.
We are at 3077 Clairemont Dr, Ste 105, just north of Sprouts in the same parking lot, with parking directly outside.
Same water, two differences
The machine is not a lesser version of the water bar. It is fed by the same nine-stage purification train — three graded sediment filters, activated charcoal, reverse osmosis, ozonated sealed storage, palm-husk carbon, a final 1-micron filter, and the wide-spectrum UV-C chamber that sits immediately before both the indoor faucets and the machine itself. City water reaches us at 600–1500 ppm and comes out at 3–5 ppm, over 99.1% removed, whichever tap you use. The full nine-stage process is documented here.
There are exactly two differences:
- No alkaline at the machine. It dispenses purified water only. Alkaline water at around pH 9.5 is at the indoor bar, during store hours.
- No prepay at the machine. Plan balances are usable at the indoor water bar only. The machine takes coins and cash.
